NSW eCert software, the CCEW sent from the job

Finish the job, tick what you did and tested, check it, send. Building Commission NSW gets the certificate with your licence already checked, and you never open the portal.

Live on every paid plan

Your licence, the customer and the site are already in. You tick the rest.

  • Sent straight to Building Commission NSW through its eCert API, no portal login, no retyping.
  • Included from $19/mo. No certificates add-on, no per-certificate fee.
  • A copy of exactly what was sent stays on the job, because Building Commission NSW can audit it.
Try it free for 30 days, no card →

Recorded 19 October 2026 in the Yamate app on a sample business, nothing in it is a real customer. We stop before Send, a real send makes a real certificate.

What the recording shows
  1. Job done. The CCEW clock is already running.
  2. Tap Send it.
  3. You, your licence, the customer and the site, already in.
  4. Tick what you did and what you tested.
  5. Check it, then send. It goes to Building Commission NSW.
  6. We stop here. A real send makes a real certificate.
Today screen in Yamate with a finished electrical job and a CCEW due card showing Send it
The job turns into a CCEW card with the days left.
The Send it to eCert form in Yamate with the electrician, licence, customer and site prefilled
The form opens with you, your licence, the customer and the site filled.
The Check it, then send review sheet in Yamate listing every CCEW line above two declarations and a Send to eCert button
Every line on one sheet, two declarations, then Send to eCert.

What's already in, what you tick

These are the real fields, from the app as it ships today.

What happens after Send

The job shows one of four lines, the same words you see in the app.

Sending to eCert, we'll keep tryingNo signal at the site. It goes when you have one, you don't resend.
Sent, check it's in your eCert accountBuilding Commission NSW accepted it. The certificate is stored under your licence in the portal and emailed to the registered address.
Checking with eCert, don't lodge it twice yetThe send went but the answer hasn't come back. The app asks again before you do anything.
Not lodged, eCert said no. Fix it and send againThe regulator rejected it, usually a licence or field problem. The reason is on the job.

Building Commission NSW checks every submission against the licensing database and emails the certificate to the electrician, employer, customer and distributor. Source: NSW Government, BCNSW eCert API for the electrical industry, updated 28 August 2026, read 19 October 2026.

Two jobs still go through the portal

  • Rectification CCEWs. Building Commission NSW takes those through the portal only. The app tells you and opens the portal, with the line Not lodged by Yamate. The 7 days still count.
  • Metering work. Our choice for now, the field set is different. Same message, same link.

Stuck at the portal door? The login page and the fixes.

What it costs

Yamate
$0 on top of the plan

CCEW send included on every paid plan. Founder $19/mo for up to 3 people until 30 November 2026, Company $59/mo for 8, then $15 a person. Quotes, invoices, payments and the rest are in the same price.

Fergus
$30 for 1–9 staff, $80 for 10+ a month, Certificates add-on

On top of Essentials from $53 or Professional from $77 a month, GST basis not stated, as at 19 October 2026 at fergus.com/au/pricing.

The free plan doesn't send CCEWs. Every paid plan does. All plans. Yamate against Fergus, the whole thing.

What the portal costs you in time

Your own numbers, nothing made up. Minutes you spend per CCEW in the portal, certificates a month.

 a month in the portal

In the app the ticks take about a minute because everything else is already in. Whatever your hourly rate is, that is the number to multiply.

Why trust this page

  • Building Commission NSW granted Yamate production access to the eCert API on 8 October 2026, after acceptance tests on 3 and 8 October 2026 that proved both tester paths, you tested it and another electrician tested it.
  • The recording and the stills on this page are the shipping app, not drawings. We stopped before Send because Building Commission NSW forbids test submissions in production and a real send makes a real certificate.
  • Yamate is job software made in Tweed, NSW. It is independent of Building Commission NSW and not endorsed by it. The portal is ecert.buildingcommission.nsw.gov.au.

Questions

Do I still need an eCert portal account?

Not to send. Your certificates are stored in the portal under your licence either way, and a portal account is how you see and download them. Register with your individual licence, the login page has the steps.

Who can press Send?

Only the licensed electrician who did and tested the work, from their own login. The owner adds them under Settings, Licence & insurance, Electricians who send CCEWs. Nobody sends on someone else's licence.

What if the job has no signal?

The job shows Sending to eCert, we'll keep trying, and it goes the moment you have signal. The seven days count from your test day, so send before you leave the site when you can.

What if Building Commission NSW rejects it?

The job shows Not lodged, eCert said no, with the reason. Fix the field and send again. Nothing is lodged twice.

Can I send a rectification CCEW?

Not from the app. Building Commission NSW takes those through the portal, and the app opens it for you. The seven days still count.

Is it on the free plan?

No. Every paid plan has it, from $19/mo, with no certificates add-on.

Regulator facts are quoted from Building Commission NSW pages read 19 October 2026 and the regulator's page wins if this one falls behind. Competitor prices are Fergus's published figures, plans checked September 2026 and the Certificates add-on as at 19 October 2026, both at fergus.com/au/pricing.
