We show whole-job ranges tied to their example sizes. Dividing a house-slab figure into a shed-sized job, or scaling a small shed band up to a house footprint, would imply a precision the source does not support. Ask a business for a current written quote against the plans and site conditions.
These examples concern metropolitan jobs. FlowSpec says standard preparation, concrete supply, pump hire and finishing are part of its installed rate guidance, but the particular job may need additional engineering, excavation, drainage, access work or approvals. Confirm each inclusion and exclusion, and the total with GST, in the written quote.
What changes the price of a concrete slab?
Start with what the slab will support: a garden shed, vehicles or a building. The structural specification can require different footing, thickness, reinforcement and ground preparation. A qualified designer or engineer should establish the design where required; the optional questions on this page are only a brief for contacting businesses.
Tell the concreter about the site slope, access for trucks and pumps, existing concrete to remove, drainage and any known ground information. A finished-surface quote should identify excavation and disposal, base preparation, formwork, reinforcement, concrete supply, placement, finish, curing and making good.
For a house or extension slab, provide the current plans, engineering and approval documents. Ask who coordinates any site investigation or design still needed. A price from incomplete plans may change when the actual design and ground conditions are known.
