Accessibility
Last updated 25 September 2026
Yamate is built for people who work outdoors, in gloves, in bright sun, on whatever phone is in the ute — so accessibility here is not a compliance page, it is how the product has to work. This page says what we actually do, what we measure it against, and how to tell us when something doesn't work for you.
In the app
- Every form field and icon-only control on the home and quote screens carries a real name for screen readers — measured at zero unnamed fields and zero unnamed icon controls in our September 2026 sweep, with correct page language and a single main heading.
- Tap targets are at least 44×44 pixels, and controls carry an icon and a label — never a bare icon, never colour as the only signal.
- Text aims at WCAG AA contrast (4.5:1), with a higher target for the money figures you read on site in the sun, plus a dedicated outdoor mode and a high-contrast setting.
- Amounts never truncate: shortening happens to labels, never to the dollars.
- These aren't intentions — automated gates run against every release and go red when one of them breaks.
On this website
- Text on the landing page meets AA contrast, including button text against its fill — re-measured and fixed on 25 September 2026.
- The site works without JavaScript where it matters: content that folds on small screens is fully visible when scripts are off, never trapped.
- Images that carry meaning have text descriptions; decorative icons are marked so screen readers skip them instead of reading noise.
What's not perfect
Some older pages on this site predate the current design rules and are being brought up to them. If you hit something that doesn't work with your screen reader, magnifier, keyboard or anything else, that is a bug to us, not feedback: email support@yamate.au and it goes in the same queue as any other defect.
