Keep the membrane scope distinct from grout
The NCC wet-area requirements and AS 3740 govern relevant construction details. Ask the installer how the chosen system treats floors, walls, corners, penetrations and thresholds for your actual bathroom; the answer depends on design and substrate.
A surface reseal or regrout is not proof that a failed concealed membrane has been fixed. Diagnose a leak before choosing a repair method.
Compare waterproofing and handover
Ask for substrate repairs, product system, preparation, junction details, curing, testing or inspection records, tiler coordination, exclusions, warranty and GST. Check who is responsible if another trade later penetrates the membrane.

Is regrouting the same as waterproofing?
No. Grout is a tile finish; the concealed membrane is a separate part of the wet-area system.
Can waterproofing be quoted over existing tiles?
That depends on the proposed repair and cause. Ask for an inspection and written method before assuming a surface treatment is enough.
