Where these roof restoration ranges come from
The price block reproduces Aussie Roofers’ rounded national budget bands, checked by Yamate on 28 September 2026. That guide combines published 2026 prices from five capital cities for tiled roofs and three for metal roofs, then rounds the middle of those city ranges. It calls them approximations, not observed national averages or a survey of completed Yamate jobs.
The underlying city guides do not all state the same GST treatment. We do not silently convert or add GST to the published bands. Ask each business for its total including GST, and compare the actual written scope. The figures describe full restoration of a standard home; they do not price one leak, a repaint alone, a re-roof or a larger complex property.

What belongs in a roof restoration quote?
Ask the roofer to separate the inspection findings from the proposed work. A tile roof may need cleaning, broken tile replacement and ridge bedding or pointing before a coating is considered. Metal roofs have different preparation, corrosion, fixing and coating questions. Have the business describe the steps that apply to your roof rather than accepting a generic package.
Confirm the roof material, approximate area, storeys, pitch and access method, as well as whether gutters, flashings, valleys, solar equipment and waste are included. Ask which repairs are included in the base price and which require your approval as additional work.
If the roof has extensive damage or repeated leaks, ask the roofer to explain whether a repair, restoration or replacement is the appropriate scope. A price range on this page does not establish the roof’s condition or remaining life.

Is roof restoration the same as roof painting?
No. A restoration quote may include inspection, cleaning and repairs before a coating. A painting quote may cover a narrower finish. Compare the written work, not just the heading.
Do the budget ranges include GST?
The combined source draws from city guides with different GST statements, so the national bands cannot be treated as uniformly GST-inclusive. Ask every roofer for a written total including GST.
Why could my quote be outside the guide?
Size, condition, steepness, access, material, repair scope and local costs vary. The published figures are rounded guides for standard homes, not a quote for your address.
