What makes a valid tax invoice in Australia
If you're registered for GST, your business customers will want a proper tax invoice so they can claim the GST back. The ATO requires different details depending on the amount:
- Under $1,000: the words "Tax Invoice", your business name and ABN, the date, a description of what you supplied, and the GST amount (or a statement that the total includes GST).
- $1,000 or more: all of the above plus the buyer's name or ABN.
This generator includes all of those fields. If you're not registered for GST, untick the GST box β your document should say "Invoice" (not "Tax Invoice") and must not add GST.
Doing this every week? Let the app do it.
A generator is great for a one-off. If you're invoicing regularly, Yamate remembers your details, numbers your invoices automatically, adds GST, sends them by text, and chases the ones that go unpaid β so you're not rebuilding an invoice from scratch every time.
